# How Many Photos Can 128GB Hold?

How many photos can 128GB hold? I can probably give you the answer that everyone knows, it can HOLD A LOT! If you are using your phone or DSLR camera, that card is more than enough storage space, but it is still cool to know how much pics can fit on it.

Below I have crafted a little table that will show you how many pictures you can expect to store on a 128GB memory card.

How Many Pics Can Fit on 128GB?

Before we get into the information, you should be aware that the numbers are estimated (off real world file sizes). The memory card could hold a lot more or less, it really depends on variety of factors, such as file size, the megapixel of the camera, if the memory card has other data and much more.

Estimates used:
1 MP = 1,000,000 pixels
1MB = 1,000,000 bytes, 1GB = 1,000MB
JPEG 100% Quality = Visually lossless JPEG compression with 1:10 ratio of RAW image

Photos – Compressed (JPEG 100% quality) Images per card. (info by Sandisk)

 Megapixels File size (MB) 128GB 4MP 1.2 91552 5MP 1.5 73240 6MP 1.8 61032 7MP 2.1 52312 8MP 2.4 45776 10MP 3.0 36620 12MP 3.6 30516 14MP 4.2 26156 16MP 4.8 22888 22MP 6.6 16644

If you are going to be shooting RAW with your DSLR, then you already know that the memory card is going to hold a lot less pics, simply because the photos are not going to be compressed.

Photos – Uncompressed RAW (24 bits per pixel) Images per card

 Megapixels File size (MB) 128GB 4MP 12.0 9152 5MP 15.0 7324 6MP 18.0 6100 7MP 21.0 5228 8MP 24.0 4576 10MP 30.0 3660 12MP 36.0 3048 14MP 42.0 2612 16MP 48.0 2288 22MP 66.0 1664

Now that you are finished, I hope that I was able to paint a proper picture as it relates to many pics can be stored on a 128GB memory card. 128GB is a lot of space and I honestly don’t think you are going to need a bigger memory card, but if you feel you need more for your phone or camera, bigger cards exist and that should be ideal for you.
